Personal breast augmentation story and pictures - Implants Harley Girl

I am NOT unhappy I elected to have implants. I love having breasts. It is a wonderful elective surgery. I am very disappointed in myself for giving in the vanity that destroyed the perfect results I had and for making a choice that I knew increased the risks.

My message is this. A REDO is NOT the answer for everything. Anyone who engages in a redo is reopening themselves to all of the risks as the first surgery and redo's are often more risky.

My doctor is not a bad plastic surgeon; he is one of the top rated plastic surgeons in my state. Things like this happen. Second and third surgeries are not to be taken lightly. They can simply be trading one problem for another, or several others.

If you are considering going large, don't let anyone tell you that a DD is not that big. They are large even on a 5'10", 135 pound big girl like me. It takes a lot of work to not look huge; and it is pretty hard to look classy these days.

I have a VERY difficult time finding clothing that fits. Many items make me look heavy, and I often have the "shelf on the chest" look. I have to search hard and choose carefully. White is pretty much out (unless I am with my Club Nicole buddies who make me feel so wonderful, no matter what I am wearing.) Shopping, my favorite pastime, is now a big nightmare.

Still, after all this I do not regret doing this. I was SO happy after the first surgery. I had PERFECT BREASTS! I still am much of the time. Besides, I have met some wonderful women including Nicole herself and made some incredible friends through this experience and Nicole's web site.

The trick is to do your research, find the best doctor you can, and take your time, know what YOU want. You have to be prepared for complications, mentally and financially. Yes it is a small percentage, but someone has to be and will be the statistic.

I have been seeking a new doctor for a redo. I am facing new scars, a third breast surgery in two years, and another $7,000 or $8,000 dollars. All of the doctors I have spoken to charge more when they take on "other doctors" work. My own doctor has finally admitted something may be wrong and has ordered an MRI to see exactly how the right side can be fixed. Provided he can, I will have him fix the pocket on the right side but I am a bit scared to have him do another surgery. I do think without the problems, the size would be bearable because they would look and feel much better.

I was scheduled for a third surgery, but I chickened out the day before. I just cannot justify the money, even if it is with one of the best breast specialist in California. Someday. I eventually will get a full redo and go smaller. In the meantime, I just live with it, and know that it could be a lot worse.

So maybe it sounds worse than it is. You judge by the pictures. I have had a terrible time deciding what to do next. It is no so bad that I must have another surgery right away.

After having complications twice, traveling to see a doctor is not really a viable option for me.

I wanted to tell this story because it is important to:

  • Read Nicole's Website in its entirety and learn everything there is to know about breast implants!

  • Select a doctor who SPECIALIZES in breast surgery

  • Understand that if you chose a doctor far away, and have complications, it is going to get expensive and inconvenient to see him or her

  • Know and be prepared for the risks

  • Understand that a redo is NOT necessarily a problem solver - You may trade a minor problem, like being a half inch too small for a large one, such as hematoma, or infection.

  • NEVER let anyone else's opinion influence your choices; don't get caught up in it too much

  • Understand that everyone is different. What may take 200 ccs for you may take 100 ccs for everyone else.

  • Share your story, but don't tell it like it is fact. Other women depend on you.

Good luck!
