Recovery from breast augmentation

Two weeks after breast enlargement surgery

Everyone that knows treats me like a pregnant woman. They want to touch and see my breasts whenever they see me, kind of like a pregnant stomach.

On Sunday, about a week and a half after surgery, my cousin came over to show me her breasts and to see mine. We tried on clothes in my bedroom and then, my two other cousins came over to see us. When my mother got home from her vacation, I swear there were 7 or 8 of us in the bathroom with our breasts out, two pairs saline, 6 pairs real.  My sister and another cousin of mine -- one who didn't have the surgery -- were marveling at them and wondering how they would look with them too.

My big concern is hiding them from those who I don't want to tell. Its a little easier at this stage but we canceled a party we were going to on day 5 because I just wasn't up to it and couldn't imagine what to wear. We went to a party about three weeks out and no one seemed to notice. I wore a soft bra without a wire and a button-down blouse. I went to a party a few days later and did not think my two sisters in law noticed. They did  - as I learned several months later when I told them to their grinning, knowing faces. As far as telling people, tell whom you want to. Anyone else who finds out or knows will support you if they are close enough to be worth caring about. Everyone else should be of no concern to you.

Despite some continued firmness at this point, they are really starting to soften up a little bit more now and I have faith they will. I saw a patient at my doctor's office that had had them for three months and they looked very natural in my size - soft, relaxed, etc. and she was much skinnier than me.

Now I sleep without a bra or in a soft camisole. I wear a soft bra or a camisole during the day and they are very comfortable. I still have to squeeze them for 15 minutes twice a day. One of them creaks a little when I move it sometimes. My doctor told me at my second visit that this could be the beginning of some contracture but that it should resolve itself. Both of my cousins had this at first and it went away. I was concerned that my left one was much bigger than my right but they are evening out slowly. I think they swelled differently and are just healing differently.

One Month after Breast Enlargement

I feel about the same as I did at two weeks.  My breasts have expressed a small amount of milk, similar to when I was breast-feeding. This can happen to anyone because of the stimulation of the breast ducts but is more prevalent for women who have recently breast-fed their children.
