Three years after breast
augmentation photos:
Wow! January 28th was the third anniversary of my breast
augmentation surgery. Were it not for my constant attention to this issue on the
Internet, I don't think that I would give my breast implants a second thought.
Unless I wear something to accentuate my bust, I feel confident that I have the appearance
of a mother of 2 kids with an ample bust line. I am sure that other women with
smaller or saggier breasts wonder, as I did about other women before my surgery, whether
or not I am lucky or had surgery, but otherwise, I don't think I stand out in a
crowd. Here are some before and after photos (taken at 3 years).

Some of the things that I have learned with 3 years under my belt
may be helpful to anyone who is considering the surgery or who has recently had the
surgery and is unsure of a number of things about themselves, their health, their
families, etc.
First and foremost, I am happy to say that I have
had no complications. Although my breasts are slightly firmer than those of friends with
whom I have made comparisons, I don't think that they are firm enough that anyone would
notice unless they knew I had had the surgery. Despite the warnings of silicone
survivors and anti-implant people, and consistent with the current studies about implants,
I have not contracted any rare diseases, don't suffer from fatigue, aches, or any
illness. I have complete (and very satisfactory sensation) in my breasts and
nipples.
Second, I find that I really don't care anymore who knows or who
knew about my surgery. When I look back, I feel that it was a little silly how much
I worried about who to tell, who knew, who I had an "obligation" to share this
with, etc. In retrospect, I feel that it really was no one's business and anyone who
is nervy enough to ask about it directly to your face or to others close to you, should be
viewed as somewhat tactless and rude. People should not feel entitled to ask that
question anymore than to inquire about personal issues regarding your sex life, your
marriage, etc.
Finally, try not to obsess, but know that it is normal to do it for
a while. I know I did - will I have contracture? will they rupture? am I going to be
able to sleep on them? can I go on a roller coaster, a horse, scuba dive, have sex? will I
need repeat surgery? Maybe there will be complications for me or for you down the
road but in my personal experience, breast augmentation surgery has not only NOT limited
my life in any way, it has enriched my life in so many ways. If you have had breast
augmentation recently or are considering it, know that there are risks and that they don't
go away but overall breast augmentation surgery can be a very, very positive life-changing
event. Good luck!.
